Drs. Yonghao Gui and Ming-Wei Wang visit Karolinska Institutet at Stockholm
In the afternoon of March 29, 2017, Dr. Yonghao Gui (Vice President and Dean, College of Medicine), Dr. Ming-Wei Wang (Dean, School of Pharmacy) and Assistant Professor Lan Hong (School of Pharmacy) from Fudan University visited the world renowned Karolinska Institutet at Stockholm (Sweden). They were warmly received by Professor Karin Dahlman-Wright (Acting Vice-Chancellor), Professor Maria Masucci (Deputy Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs), Professor Anders Gustafsson (Dean of Research), Professor Marianne Schultzberg (Dean of Doctoral Education), Associate Professor Nailin Li (Academic Coordinator for China), Dr. Luni Chen (Scientific Coordinator in China) and Dr. Katarina Drakenberg (International Coordinator). During the working lunch, both parties reviewed the long-term co-operation between Fudan University/Shanghai Medical College and Karolinska Institutet and expressed their sincere expectation to expand the bilateral exchanges.
Following the execution of a memorandum of understanding relative to a new round of collaborations between the two institutions by Drs. Yonghao Gui and Karin Dahlman-Wright, the representatives from both sides further discussed new research initiatives between them concerning tropical infectious diseases and geriatric medicine, as well as two-way student exchanges. A work plan was agreed upon as a result. Professor Ganesh Acharya (Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology) and Assistant Professor Qiaolin Deng (Department of Cell and Molecular Biology) from Karolinska Institutet participated in the latter part of the interaction.
